I was very fortunate to be invited along to take part in a photography group given special permission to access Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit the evening before the 75th Members Meeting officially started.
With limited time and the darkness closing in the opportunity was there for some great static night shots and as the light faded and the mechanics and drivers gradually dispersed from the paddocks an eerie silence fell across the circuit, a stark contrast to the noise of revving engines screeching tyres and enthusiastic fans which were to follow in the coming two days.
The selection of photographs I have chosen represent this experience reflecting my experiments with handheld and tripod mounted shots and different camera settings to try and capture the stillness and silence of the Paddocks as the night drew in.
