Dunlop BTCC Test Day at Thruxton Motorsports Centre

A cool overcast Thursday with a brisk breeze blowing and occasional light rain plus the recent tragic Donington Park F4 accident involving Billy Monger still very fresh in the minds of drivers, conditions were perhaps not perfect for a test day at Thruxton but when the date is in the diary you still have to turn up.

With a test day reserved especially for Dunlop BTCC teams and their support races the opportunity to get a few laps in at Thruxton circuit was enough to attract a good selection of teams from the current Dunlop BTCC, the Clio Cup, F4 British Championship and the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup.

On a track test day things seem a little more relaxed in the paddocks with cars being quietly worked on, tyres checked and engine tweeks made. Many cars are still sporting wounds from their most recent races, for a photographer it is a chance to mix in the paddocks and take a few pictures without the massive crowds or pressure on the drivers of a full race day.
